Barry Bonds: A Record Untouchable?
September 17, 2004. 21 years ago, yesterday, Barry Bonds hit his 700th career home run against the Padres, a feat that only Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron had achieved. He then went on to break Hank Aaron’s record for most home runs of all time with 762, which is a record that still holds. Considering the current leader among active players is Giancarlo Stanton with 449, it is safe to say that record will hold for a bit longer.

Jackie Robinson: Where Rookie Legends Began
September 17, 1947. 78 years ago, yesterday, the MLB Rookie of the Year Award was created and awarded to its first recipient, Jackie Robinson. It began as one award given to the Majors’ overall best rookie. Two years later, in 1949, it was split between the American League and National League, as it is today.

The “Old” Dolphins
September 18, 2022. On this day, three years ago, the Baltimore Ravens were stunned by the Miami Dolphins. Trailing 35-14, Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins rallied off a 28-point fourth quarter, including a go-ahead touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle with 14 seconds left on the clock, to take down the Ravens 42-38. Tua finished with an incredible stat line of 469 yards and 6 touchdowns. Star wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle shared the love for a combined 22 receptions, 361 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
