Welcome to week 3 of the RQI. If this is your first time here, make sure to read Welcome to the RQI! for the full backstory and how the RQI works.

This week was definitely one of the weaker showings from the QB position. We only had one QB post a score over a 70 and four QBs get benched due to poor play. On the bright side, we had nine new passers welcomed to the RQI including a founding member of the RQI, two rookies, a KICKER, a RUNNING BACK and some vets. We also saw Russell Wilson return to his rightful place; at the bottom of all QBs who started. Here is a preview into week 3 of the RQI.

Week 3

  1. Caleb Williams (CHI) - 72.0 - Welcome to the big leagues Caleb! I hope you all read watchlist Wednesday because he was on the POP list and boy did he POP. Almost 300 yards passing, 4 TDs and 0 INT. That is the play we all expected to see from Williams in this Ben Johnson offense.

  2. Jalen Hurts (PHI) - 69.3 - Finally! We got to finally see Hurts do something with his arm. 226 passing and 3 TDs, all coming in the second half. This was a big time game and a huge come from behind win. It was good to see Hurts remember how to throw, giving eagles fans everyone confidence in his abilities to make plays outside of the run game.

  3. Josh Allen (BUF) - 68.4 - 2025 1x Weekly leader. The Week 1 RQI leader makes his return to the top 5 after a dominant game against the Dolphins. Just over 200 passing and 3 TDs isn’t the best game, but when you pair it with no turnovers and this week overall, it will definitely get you a top 5 spot.

  4. Lamar Jackson (BAL) - 64.3 - Lamar, Lamar, Lamar. A good RQI performance but a bad team one. Lamar’s score gets saved by a garbage time TD to Mark Andrews at the end of the game. He did have 288 yards and 3 TD which is a great game but without the win, his RQI score never stood a chance.

  5. Drake Maye (NE) - 63.3 - High volume, decent yardage, multiple TD. That will get you this spot in week 3 of the NFL season. Even with the loss, Maye ends up this high. He did have an INT which hurt his score but the young QB continues to impress early in the season.

  6. Geno Smith (LV) - 62.9 - Geno! A top-ten spot for Geno is well deserved based on his passing performance. I am especially happy for him because despite his efforts, he was unable to take down my Commanders. 289 passing yards and 3 TD (all to Tre Tucker) is a great performance but getting a win is necessary in the RQI to get a top spot.

  7. Justin Herbert (LAC) - 62.0 - THIS GUY! See the full season scores but Herbert takes the TOP SPOT through 3 weeks as the RQI season leader. Another 300 yard passing performance, a TD and the first 3-0 start since 2002 for the Chargers. This guy is playing out of his mind and making every Dolphins fan question why he was taken after Tua.

  8. Mac Jones (SF) - 60.2 - Back to back weeks in the top 10 for Mac! What a first two weeks for the former first rounder. 27 completed passes, 284 passing and a TD. Don’t forget, game winning drives bring the VIBEZ.

  9. Patrick Mahomes (KC) - 59.3 - Is he back? I am not sure but this was a start for sure. Back in the win column behind 200+ passing and a TD. Again, some weeks that will be an average score and others that will get you a top 10 RQI score.

  10. Tyrod Taylor (NYJ) - 58.6 - In his first game starting for the Jets gets Taylor in the top 10 of this week’s RQI behind his 197 passing, 2 TD performance. His INT and loss hurt his score but overall, it was good to see Tyrod get out there and give his team a shot. His high volume going 26/36 definitely helped his score.

  11. Sam Darnold (SEA) - 55.4 - 218 passing yards on only 14 passes! Darnold had the boys flying on Sunday behind an extremely efficient performance. Don’t forget about his 2 TD he threw in the dominant win. Darnold returned to last seasons form and earned himself a top 15 spot.

  12. Jared Goff (DET) - 54.9 - A founding member of the RQI! 2024 RQI Champ! 2025 1x Weekly leader. Goff gets a BIG win on the road. It wasn’t the best game passing but 202 yards and 1 TD was all it took for Goff to beat the Ravens in Baltimore. A solid game to follow up his top spot last week.

  13. Baker Mayfield (TB) - 54.4 - Back to Back to Back Game winning drives, bring the VIBEZ. 233 passing and 1 TD is an average game for a QB but the non-stop comebacks has been fueling Baker to start the season.

  14. Spencer Rattler (NO) - 54.2 - Rattler is lucky he was losing the whole game and had to throw it so much otherwise his RQI score would have been BAD. He completed 28 passes and eclipsed 200 yards with a TD and an INT. Rattler continues to find his way up the list in the RQI.

  15. Dak Prescott (DAL) - 53.9 - High volume, 75% completion, 250 passing but only 1 TD and 2 INT. After last week’s performance, this was not the way to follow it up against an 0-2 team.

  16. Daniel Jones (IND) - 52.6 - A founding member of the RQI! Indiana Jones stays playing well. It wasn’t the most dominant passing game, but that wasn’t needed to dominant that game. 3 weeks in and I will continue to say that he is going to win Comeback Player of the Year.

  17. Matthew Stafford (LAR) - 52.4 - Not the best showing from Stafford, but one that will put him right around the midpoint of the RQI. It is too bad the game-winning kick got blocked because that was a valiant game winning drive effort that would have skyrocketed him towards the top.

  18. Cam Ward (TEN) - 51.7 - Rookie. Cam looked solid towards the end of the game but the only reason why he is this high is due to the poor passing play from other QBs. He threw for over 200 had a TD and 1 INT but the game was out of hand really quick.

  19. Carson Wentz (MIN) - 51.4 - Welcome to the RQI! Wentz was given a task, and he went out and completed it. A MASSIVE win for the Vikings behind his 173 passing and 2 TDs. Just like Daniel Jones, there was not much that was needed from him based on Jordan Mason’s running efforts. Good to see Wentz back in action and playing well.

  20. Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) - 51.2 - A founding member of the RQI! 2023 RQI Champ! Lefty. He started off so well and just fell off. The game losing INT that he threw was BAD. Sorry Tua.

  21. C.J. Stroud (HOU) - 49.4 - Has anyone seen Stroud? This dude is missing. 204 passing, 1 TD and 2 INT. This is not the guy we all came to know the last two seasons. The Texans drop to 0-3 which is shocking.

  22. Trevor Lawrence (JAX) - 49.3 - Despite the win over Stroud, Lawrence finds himself below him in the RQI. He gets the win but with 222 passing and 0 TD. Don’t forget his INT. This guy continues to confuse.

  23. Marcus Mariota (WSH) - 48.5 - Welcome to the RQI! Just another QB who showed up for the job he was asked to do. Mariota did not try to do too much passing, he did what he had to in order to fill in for Jayden. 200 yards, 1 TD and a win will get the job done in the RQI. The low volume did not help him, only completing 15 passes

  24. Kyler Murray (ARI) - 48.5 - Somehow this guy finds a way to stink. I am not sure if it him or the play caller. He is frustrating to watch and I am tired of him! 150. 1 TD. Loss.

  25. Aaron Rodgers (PIT) - 47.6 - After Rodgers’ HOT start, I did not think he would finish with only 139 passing. He did have 2 TD but again those both came before the 13 minute mark of the second quarter. A win helps his RQI score.

  26. Joe Flacco (CLE) - 42.7 - Joe didn’t have the strongest game but the win get’s him above Love. 142 passing and 0 TD is not going to cut it in the RQI but a win will help! Joe has not looked elite this season and I am curious how long he is going to continue to play.

  27. Jordan Love (GB) - 40.6 - What happened Jordan?? After a dominant first two weeks, Love through for 183, 1 TD and 1 INT. The worst part about it was the loss. That was a horrendous loss and one the is the opposite of VIBEZ.

  28. Bo Nix (DEN) - 39.2 - Oh no, Bo. Only 14 completed passes fo 153 yards. This was not the Bo we were all excited to watch this season. And a bad loss at the end of the game. Sophomore slump?

  29. Bryce Young (CAR) - 35.4 - In what seemed to be the most dominant win on Sunday, Young only completed 16 passes for 121 yards, had 0 TDs. How was this game 30-0?

  30. Jake Browning (CIN) - 35.3 - This guy is not going to last very long. The worst loss in franchise history in his first game starting is bad. Not to mention that he has debatably the best WRs in the NFL. 2 INT, a loss and under 150 passing is not going to get him very far.

  31. Michael Penix Jr. (ATL) - 34.6 - Lefty. Embarrassing. Higher than Russ. No further comments.

  32. Russell Wilson (NYG) - 31.8 - 160 passing 0 TD, 2 INT. That was not the way to follow up your career high passing at home. He became the check down king.

  33. Derrick Henry (BAL) - 15.0 - Welcome to the RQI! RUNNING BACK! Our first RB on the season! 0/1 but that pass takes guts!

  34. Joshua Karty (LAR) - 15.0 - Welcome to the RQI! KICKER! Our first Kicker of the season! So exciting. Even if he went 0/1, the audacity to throw is enough for me!

  35. Max Brosmer (MIN) - 14.4 - Welcome to the RQI! Rookie. Never heard of this guy but regardless, WELCOME! 2/4 passing and 29 yards in his first NFL action. He tops the list of backup QBs to come into the game.

  36. Drew Lock (SEA) - 13.0 - Welcome to the RQI! Welcome back! Due to the blowout, he gets in there for a 2/3 passing 15 yard performance.

  37. Kirk Cousins (ATL) - 11.8 - Welcome to the RQI! A founding member of the RQI! Boy is it good to see you Kirk! 5/7 passing shows the guy might have more fuel in the tank!

  38. Joe Milton III (DAL) - 8.2 - Welcome to the RQI! An INT when you only throw 5 passes? Have to be better.

  39. Tyler Shough (NO) - 5.6 - Welcome to the RQI! Rookie. 0/2 passing. Bottom.
