Good morning! It’s October 20th and Vanderbilt is somehow a top-10 team, Kevin Durant just made enough money to buy an actual rocket, and the Broncos scored 33 points in one quarter after taking a three-quarter nap. Jalen Hurts was perfect, Drake Maye was nearly perfect, and Billy Napier is now perfectly unemployed. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays won again, and Jayden Daniels’ is going back to the imaging room. Buckle up and make sure to catch up on everything because if this weekend taught us anything, it’s that nothing in sports stays normal for long.

The Game Plan:

The Must Knows

NFL

  • Former Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has tragically passed away at just 36 years old.

  • The Patriots beat the Titans 31-13 as QB Drake Maye set a new franchise record with a 91.3% completion rate, the highest in a game with at least 20 attempts.

  • Jalen Hurts had a big day as the Eagles beat the Vikings, completing 19 of 23 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns. He became just the third Eagles quarterback ever to post a perfect 158.3 passer rating.

  • Jayden Daniels will have an MRI on Monday after suffering a right hamstring injury early in the third quarter against the Cowboys.

  • The Broncos beat the Giants 33-32 in an instant classic. Denver’s 33 fourth-quarter points were the most ever by a team shut out through the first three quarters in NFL history.

MLB

  • The Blue Jays forced Game 7 of the ALCS with a 6-2 win over the Mariners. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his sixth career postseason homer, all coming this year, tying him with José Bautista and Joe Carter for the most in franchise history.

NBA

  • Kevin Durant signed a two-year, $90 million extension with the Houston Rockets that includes a player option for 2027-28. The deal makes him the NBA’s all-time earnings leader at $598.2 million, passing LeBron James.

College Football

  • Florida has fired head coach Billy Napier. He was in his fourth season with the Gators, who now owe him roughly $20.4 million.

  • The AP Top 25 poll was released Sunday with every team in the top 10 shifting except #1 Ohio State. Vanderbilt came in at #10, marking its first top-10 appearance since 1941.
